The choice for climbing has been expanded by nice routes.
"Klettersteige" are climbing routes leading over exposed ground, safeguarded with footholds and wire ropes, and only advisable for proficient, sure-footed mountain hikers with a steady head for heights and suitable Alpine equipment. Essentials include a helmet to protect against falling stones, a climbing harness and carabiners (snap rings for securing yourself to the wire ropes). As in most things, skill comes with practice and responsible hikers are best advised to acquire the rudiments of mountaincraft techniques at one of the mountain climbing schools!
A word of warning - should a thunderstorm brew up while you are en route, avoid all contact with the metal safeguards, in case they are struck by lightning!
For beginners we recommend to climb these routes with a guide.
